Rule clarifications:
You can activate Cartographer’s ability with its play effect.
Cartographer’s ability does not activate when you draw cards in the Morning Phase.
If you play a card that draws more than one card you still only gain 1 Nut.(LUMBERJACK, RANGER, DOCTOR, BACKPACK, BANK MANAGER, INNKEEPER, DETECTIVE, MASTER THIEF or TWINWATCH)
If however you would play a card that makes you draw cards more than one time you will gain 1 Nut for each instance you draw a card.
For example if you play a MENTOR or CHIEF OF POLICE and exhaust two squirrels that both makes you draw at least one card, you would gain 2 Nuts since there is more than one instance of drawing cards.
